Ein "Shoko"

Springs

Ein "Shoko", originally named Ein a-Tina, was established in memory of soldier Matan Gadri (nicknamed Shoko), who fell while pursuing terrorists in Hebron during his service in the Nahal reconnaissance unit. He was awarded a citation for valor after his death.

His friends, his family and the children of Mevo Hama built the concrete pool facing a stunning view of the Sea of Galilee, with a lookout toward the Galilee. The spring rises west of Kibbutz Mevo Hama, and the water is piped into the pool.

The site is reached by a walking trail of 1.5 km each way, with a magnificent view of the Sea of Galilee along the way. The place is shaded by eucalyptus and acacia trees and has picnic tables. In autumn, sternbergia and cyclamen bloom here.

Admission is free. Please keep the site clean for those who come after you.
