Ein Mokesh

Springs

Ein Mokesh (near Kibbutz Ein Zivan) was given its name - meaning "mine spring" - because it lay within a minefield. Today, after the mines were cleared by the engineering corps, entry to the spring is permitted.

The spring flows into a beautiful round pool built of small basalt stones, with steps leading down to the water. This is a well built by Circassians who lived in the abandoned village of Ein Zivan.

The walk to the spring is short, about 5 minutes from the parking area. Leave your car in the parking lot and do not try to drive in to the spring, as the exit would be very dangerous.

Do not cross the fence; beyond the fence the area is mined. Be careful! There is no waste collection at the site. Please take your trash with you and leave the place clean for those who come after you.
